As first generation Chinese immigrants, Tony's parents had to start businesses to become successful in the United States. Tony aspired to follow his parent's footsteps to become an entrepreneur but wasn't sure what business or career path he wanted to do. Growing up, he mowed lawns for neighbors, sold candy through the neighborhood and worked at a recycling facility as a young adult.
Tony attended UC Irvine and worked at Grant Thornton LLP, one of the world's leading accounting and advisory firms. Through his time at Grant Thornton, he realized accounting is very challenging - for all businesses, big or small. In fact, smaller businesses (like his parent's) often don't have the resources to pay a large accounting firm. Tony saw this as an opportunity and joined Will at WJR in 2020 - and hasn't looked back.
When Tony isn't "accounting", he enjoys traveling with his wife, watching the NBA, NFL and Formula 1. Tony is also fascinated with Crypto and the future in technology. Lastly, Tony is also an avid CrossFitter - he's always down to do a WOD together!
Tony specializes in Data Analytics, Internal Controls, Process Improvement and accounting support. Tony is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California and is a member of the Asian Business Association and ACE Next Gen. Tony is also conversationally fluent in Mandarin.
